AT THE GOOD COUNSEL CAMPUS
WHITE PLAINS, NY
PROGRAM – BILL CLARKE
Time in The Mainframe of the Computer
A computer named, Watson, competed on the TV show “Jeopardy”. It successfully answered many questions, but can it tell time? And why would it want to? Bill Clarke will discuss the use of time in computers and how computers have evolved their use of time. Bill is a member of the NAWCC and a past president of Chapter 84(Mid Hudson Valley). He enjoys repairing movements and teaches basic clock repair for the local adult education program. Bill has worked for many years in a computer development laboratory. He has designed chips associated with computer time and sharing of time between computers. He is currently designing high availability systems. Please plan to attend this unusual presentation on a topic that is certain to bring you into the 21st century.
