Monte Sano Hotel Clock Storage and Repair
This wall clock hung in the lobby of the Monte Sano Hotel in the early 1900s.  The clock is being donated by local residents to the Burritt Mansion to be installed in a structure being built on the style of the old hotel.  Chapter 61 has been asked to put the clock in operational condition and store it until the structure is ready.

Repair of Thomas Hally Longcase Clock
(On-Going)

This English Long Case clock is over 250 years old.  It was repaired by Chapter 61 and returned to Burritt in January of 2010.  Weight cables were replaced in January 2011 and additional repairs made.  The Chapter provides on-going maintenance of the clock.

Collinsville Tower Clock
(COMPLETE)

History A number of years ago, Collinsville, Al. began the restoration of a tower clock that had kept time for the city for many years before it was abandoned.   Chapter 61 assisted with the help of other NAWCC chapters to complete the restoration.   There it will be placed on display in the City Hall until a suitable structure is completed for its permanent home.

Current Activity
The Clock was returned to Collinsville on November 13th.  The city honored those that had done the work and thanked Chapter 61 and Chapter 54 for their support.   ( See article and pictures under the "RESOURCES" tab)

Florance Tower Clock

History
This clock was located on the County Court House in Florance when that building was torn down.   The clock became the property of a salvage recycler.  Because the clock was heavy, the truck bogged down and the clock was tied to a tree and the truck driven out from under it.   Doug Farley found the clock much later and with years of effort, restored it.   The clock resides in the Petersville Community Center in Florance, Al.  NAWCC Chapters 54 and 61 jointly maintain the clock at this time.

Current Activity
Denis Devane and Paul Hopkins from the Birmingham l installed a new timing device and recently reported that the clock is running with no problems.   There is some concern that we may need to rebush the escapement arbor.  But will wait until they have some problems before doing that.  The clock is being maintained by a member of the local community and no further effort is planned at this time.
