This clock hung in the Monte Sano Hotel during the early 1900's and was recently purchased in an estate sale. The purchaser wants to return this clock to the mountain for public display. Chapter 61 is responsible for returning the clock to operational condition and storing the clock until the structure that is being built on Burritt Mansion Grounds is ready.
A group from Chapter 61 met in October, 2011, and removed the movement for inspection. The group concluded that other than missing the sweep second hand the clock was intact. It would not run for more than a few seconds. But it was felt that a cleaning would probably fix the problem.
Later the clock movement was disassembled for ultrasonic cleaning. Walt purchased a replacement second hand. Cord has been purchased to replace the poor quality cord that had replaced the original at some earlier date.
This project is in progress. Walt Wilson is leading the effort.
